Our story
Almost 30 Years of Preserving Cemeteries
Founded in 1997, Texas Cemetery Restoration LLC has spent nearly three decades preserving the past — for the next generation.

A Lifelong Passion for Preservation
James "Rusty" Brenner grew up in the monument industry, working alongside his father wherever he was needed. Those years spent in cemeteries left a lasting impression — not just the craftsmanship and artistic style of the historic markers, but the stories they told about the people and communities they represented.
That appreciation sparked a question that would define his life's work: who is taking care of these historic markers when they need restoration? In 1997, that question became Texas Cemetery Restoration LLC.
For nearly 30 years, Rusty has grown the company from that founding vision into a full-service cemetery preservation firm, expanding to include monument restoration, cemetery mapping and database creation, ground penetrating radar surveys, educational workshops, and the selling cemetery preservation supplies that include D/2 Biological Solution — the industry's trusted cleaner for historic stone.
Our Work Philosophy
Respect for History
Every cemetery tells a story. We approach each project with deep respect for the individuals, families, and communities represented — treating historic markers as the irreplaceable artifacts they are.
Do No Further Harm
Preservation begins with restraint. We use only proven, industry-approved methods and materials — including D/2 Biological Solution — to ensure our work does not cause further harm, can be undone without causing further harm, and to preserve for future generations
Leave It Better Than We Found It
Whether restoring a single monument or mapping an entire cemetery, our goal is the same: to hand the site back to the community in better condition than we found it, documented and preserved for generations to come.
